If you are someone who hates skincare products that contain nasty chemicals then I have good news for you! Sukin, Australia’s No.1 Natural Skincare brand that prides itself in its “No List” aka the list of nasties that the formulations do not contain, is now available on Nykaa.com. The brand kindly sent me a few of their products to try, and here is what I think of them.
The Brand Philosophy
All the products from Sukin Skincare are created using naturally derived ingredients and are free of sulphates, parabens, artificial fragrances and colours. The brand is completely vegan and cruelty-free and even their packaging is recyclable. From the ingredient list and the packaging, it is evident that Sukin cares equally about its consumers and the planet, which is commendable. Let us now move on to reviewing some of the products.
Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser
The Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser is a clear liquid cleanser that produces a gentle lather and contains green tea, witch hazel, aloe vera and chamomile as its star ingredients. This face wash has a mild natural herbal scent and the lather does not strip the skin dry, which makes the product suitable for sensitive skin. It cleanses the pores thoroughly and leaves the skin soft and supple. The Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser should work for all skin types but I feel that it will be particularly useful for sensitive, acne-prone skin. Click here to buy.
Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub
The Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub has fine walnut shell particles embedded in a cream base. The cream base has a nutty smell and feels quite hydrating on the skin while the walnut shell particles are sparsely distributed through the cream, possibly to prevent the scrub from being too gritty. While this scrub does not feel too harsh on my skin, walnut shell particles can be abrasive if you go in with a heavy hand while scrubbing, so please be extremely gentle if you choose to use this on your face. It will be great as a body scrub too. Click here to buy.
Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner
My favourite product out of the four is the Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner. This toner smells like roses and has a beautiful cooling effect on the skin. It provides gentle hydration and helps to shrink the pores too. The formula contains rose water and chamomile extracts that help to calm and soothe the skin. I will highly recommend this for the warmer months. Click here to buy.
Sukin Facial Moisturiser
The Sukin Facial Moisturiser is a light-weight and non-greasy formula that has a slight slip to it. This product contains a bunch of skin-loving, nourishing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Sesame Seed Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E. It provides a powerful dose of hydration to the skin without feeling heavy on the face and works well under makeup too. With regular use, it also adds a subtle glow to the skin. This moisturiser should work for all skin types, except extremely oily skin. Click here to buy.
My Final Verdict on Sukin Skincare
Overall, I am quite impressed with the formulations of Sukin Skincare and will recommend these to all the clean beauty enthusiasts out there. The only downside that I can think of is the price, which is INR 850 for a 125ml bottle of each product. If this falls within your budget then there is absolutely no reason for you to not try the brand because they truly do have some no-nonsense, effective skincare products.
